The fall exhibit at the Mercedes-Benz Manhattan Gallery features the work of artist Jim Jermantowicz. On view September 4th - October 30th, the exhibit of bright painterly canvases and artist lithographs are inspired by classic and contemporary Mercedes-Benz automobiles. An opening with the artist will be held on Thursday, September 14th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
Focusing on the interaction of people and automobiles, the artist captures moments at significant automotive events. New paintings include evening scenes from this year’s inaugural Newport Concours d’Elegance, where he was the featured artist. Also exhibited are color and monochrome artist lithographs, which are hand-printed from drawings made on lithographic stones and are available in very limited editions.
Mr. Jermantowicz exhibits at major automotive events, galleries and museums. Upcoming venues include the Fairfield County Concours d’Elegance in Westport, Connecticut on September 24th and an on-going exhibit of artist lithographs at the Saratoga Auto Museum in Saratoga Springs, New York.
Originally from Greenwich Connecticut, Mr. Jermantowicz’s current studio is located outside Boston. He received his BFA from the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland and considers painter Robert Bechtle and printmaker Charles Gill influences on his work.
