Art with a Twist, Youre Invited! Exhibit now open here! Now through January 30th 2007 in the customer lounge, vivid canvases and handprinted works capture the essence of the Mercedes-Benz experience. Jim Jermantowiczs works capture the interaction of people, automobiles and popular culture. A head-turning bright blue 190SL, surfboard ready classic sedan, thoughtful discussion in a convertible 450SL, black tie date with a Maybach, each image transcends the everyday experience. The realist nature of the works originate from the artists photographs. Images are selected with brilliant atmosphere and engaging figurative elements to convey a brief moment in time. Jim interprets the image with his fluid handwork, confident colors and printed wash-like textures. The richness of the pieces is evident at first glance and moves the viewer to a different time and place. Known for his painterly canvases, Jims other passion is printmaking, especially lithography, which readily translates his free-flowing style. Drawn on lithographic stones and plates, then handprinted by the Artist, both monochrome and multicolor prints are produced in very limited editions. Shaking up the art scene with his Twist Design Project; creating exhibitions, paintings, limited editions and events for modern lifestyle spaces. The exhibits remix viewers ideas of the traditional gallery experience. Original artwork and changing exhibits are sophisticated amenities and thoughtful additions to the individual lifestyle experience. Exhibiting at galleries, museums and events, Jims work reaches a broad audience. Ongoing works and private commissions are continuously under development at his Studio in Acton, outside Boston Massachusetts. Originally from Greenwich Connecticut, Jim received his BFA from the California College of the Arts and considers painter Robert Bechtle and printmaker Charles Gill influences on his work.
